Starbucks is giving away a free pastry with the purchase of a beverage. Pastry types include muffins, scones, bagels, croissants, rolls, breads, pund cakes, morning bun, coffeecakes, cheese danish, apple fritter, doughnuts, tarts, pies, and more!

A nice tutorial on how to make a very nice photo viewer using CSS3 and jQuery. Even nicer is that you can get the source material and get yours up and running in no time. It uses some technologies that aren't common in most browsers yet like CSS3 and HTML5 so you might have less than great experiences unless you are browsing with Google Chrome or Safari (for now).

Beastie Boy Has Cancer

"Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys announced Monday, by way of a homemade video placed without fanfare on the band’s Web site, that he would be receiving treatment for cancer and that as a result the group would cancel some future shows and push back the release of a new album." LAAAAAAAAAME!!!

Nasa landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface of the moon on this day 40 years ago. How crazy is that!! I'm still amazed by the incredible feat of our space program back in the 60's. Go America! Where to next?

IE6 Must Die

A funny/good little article about how IE6 is holding back web innovation. Amazingly, IE6 still holds about 15-25% or the worlds browsers. This reason is maddening to a web developer, UI guy like myself who has to build sites so that all users get a good experience. It takes little to no time to build for most modern browsers. The largest time-suck is when I have to make any site IE6 compliant. There are hacks, workarounds and other fixes that make me want to pull my hair out. What's the point? Well, if you are here on this site reading this, you probably don't have a problem because this site looks absolutely horrendous on IE6 so yaay. There is still a part of me that wants to fix all of my code so that everyone can see this site in the same way, I just wish I didn't have to. Please stop using it and get your friends and family off of it as well. All of the web developers you know will give you a big hug for your efforts.
